Serially Lost

#4:

Write about a loss: something (or someone) that was part of your life, and isn’t any more.

I can’t bring myself to write about the colossal damage my life experienced at the moment.

I lost my eraser.
I don’t fucking know when.
Eraser, why can’t you just stay with me?

Watershed

An abrupt instant that
Unwittingly altered my life;
I lost you.

Benumbed and disconcerted
I did not shed one tear.

Gazes of condolence
“Be strong.” they said
I was at crossroads.

Tongue-tied,
The lifeless body whizzed by
Did nothing but kiss goodbye

To the wasted days and time
And recall the wonder years
Which were now incomplete
Without you.
